Privacy Policy

How Furriq handles cat photos, account data, usage events, and payment data. We don't store uploaded images by default and never sell your data.

Introduction

Furriq helps people understand visible cat traits, photo quality, coat patterns, and possible breed clues. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Cat Photos

All cat images on this site are AI-generated original artwork.

The product is designed to avoid storing original cat photos by default.

Browser-only prep checks run locally in your browser.
If you start an AI generation, the image may be sent to the configured AI provider for processing.
Unless a future storage feature is explicitly enabled and disclosed, original images are not retained by default.
If image retention is enabled later, retention length and deletion behavior must be documented before launch.

What you authorize. By uploading a photo, you authorize Furriq to process, analyze, and, where needed for the service, display or briefly store it. This authorization is limited to running the identifier and related features.

Deletion. You can request deletion of an uploaded photo and the data generated from it by emailing support@furriq.com. We will honor reasonable deletion requests.

Information We Collect

We may collect:

Account information: email address, name, and authentication data needed to create or manage an account.
Usage events: visits, try clicks, generation status, quota usage, quota exhaustion, signup events, pricing clicks, and upgrade clicks.
Quota and credit records: guest trial usage, registered-user credits, credit grants, credit consumption, and credit revocation records.
Device information: browser type, device type, and basic technical data used for compatibility, debugging, and abuse prevention.
Payment information: checkout and billing status handled by configured third-party payment providers. We do not store full card numbers.
Product feedback: an optional display name and the feedback text you submit. Feedback is private and pending review unless it is separately approved for publication.
Feedback abuse-prevention records: a signed guest identifier and a daily HMAC-derived network prefix used to enforce submission limits. We do not store the raw IP address in feedback records.

How We Use Information

We use this data to:

provide Furriq and keep quota/credit limits accurate;
improve photo-prep guidance and product usability;
detect abuse, repeated trial misuse, payment fraud, or technical failures;
understand SEO and growth signals such as visits, trials, signups, quota exhaustion, and upgrade intent;
provide support and account-related notices.

Feedback Retention

Pending feedback and its abuse-prevention identifiers are retained for up to 30 days, then deleted by an automated cleanup job. We may delete rejected feedback sooner. If we later want to publish a submission, we will review it first and remove unnecessary personal information; publication is not automatic.

Do not include links, email addresses, or other private information in feedback. You can request early deletion by emailing support@furriq.com.

Generation and Usage Records

Generation records (image metadata, local analysis, and AI result text) and usage events are retained to operate the service, prevent abuse, and measure product usage. These records do not contain the original uploaded photo. There is currently no automatic expiration for them. You can request deletion of any data connected to your account or guest identifier at any time by emailing support@furriq.com.

AI Output Boundary

Furriq does not provide DNA proof, veterinary advice, breeder certification, or guaranteed breed identification. AI outputs are treated as visible-trait clues with uncertainty.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers needed to operate the product, such as hosting, authentication, AI processing, analytics, email, storage, and payment providers, or when required by law.

Security

We use access controls, transport security, and provider-secret boundaries to reduce risk. Production provider secrets should live in platform secrets or encrypted admin settings, not in public code or client-side configuration.

Your Choices

You can choose not to create an account and still use limited guest trial features. You can request account deletion or data access by emailing support@furriq.com.

Cookie Usage

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience and analyze site traffic. When you use our AI breed identification tool, we may record metadata and setup state to improve the service.

Guest identifier cookie (furriq_guest). When you use the tool without an account, we set a signed, non-personal guest cookie so we can apply daily trial limits and prevent abuse. It expires after 180 days.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics on public pages to understand traffic and see which content helps people. It collects anonymous, aggregated usage data. You can block analytics scripts with browser extensions or privacy settings.

Third-Party Services on Our Pages

Google Analytics runs on public pages to measure traffic. It operates under Google's own data practices.
Google One Tap offers sign-in through your Google account on the sign-in page.
MakeThisBetter powers the in-product feedback widget. Submissions are private until they are separately reviewed and approved for publication.

Advertising

We do not currently serve advertisements on Furriq. If we start showing ads in the future, we will update this policy and disclose any ad cookies before ad code goes live.

Your Cookie Choices

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through your browser settings. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or delete certain cookies. However, this may affect the functionality of our site. You may also use opt-out mechanisms such as the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page to limit interest-based advertising from participating companies.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Furriq changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date on this page.
